NFL Team Depth Charts in the Mock Draft: Know Exactly Who You're Drafting
feature · draft
In dynasty drafts, you're not just evaluating a player — you're evaluating a situation. Two similarly valued rookies can look very different once you see one is buried on the depth chart and the other is walking into a clear starting role.
The Mock Draft Simulator now shows both.
NFL Team Chips
Every player in the available pool now shows a team chip (e.g., KC, LV, DET) right next to their name. At a glance you can see which teams are loaded at a position — and which opportunities are sitting wide open.
Full Depth Chart on Click
Click any player to expand their profile and you'll now see the full positional depth chart for their NFL team below the combine stats and season numbers. The selected player is highlighted, so you can instantly see where they rank on the roster and who's ahead of them.
Depth charts reflect Sleeper's current depth chart data, which updates as teams make moves, injuries happen, and training camp shakeouts settle.
Why It Matters for Dynasty
Dynasty value models already capture some of the depth-chart situation in a player's overall number, but the model updates lag real-world information. Seeing the live chart directly tells you things like:
- Is a rookie receiver walking into a clear WR2 slot, or fighting three veterans for a third-wide role?
- Has the team added competition since the rankings were last updated?
- Is a running back behind one elite starter (a handcuff worth holding) or two solid veterans (no clear path)?
The depth chart panel shows the full positional group with ordering pulled from Sleeper's depth_chart_order field, so it reflects the team's own internal designations, not just roster signings.
