Waiver Wire Analytics: Grades, Ownership History, and Team Summaries for Every Claim
announcement · feature · waivers
Trades get all the attention, but the waiver wire is where most dynasty rosters are actually built. A $5 FAAB pickup that turns into a starter is more valuable than a hyped trade that breaks even. Until now, there was no easy way to audit your league's full claim history and see who has been winning the wire.
The new Waivers tab tracks every waiver and free agent claim across your league's history, with acquisition grades, FAAB tracking, and ownership timelines for the most-moved players.
Acquisition Grades
Every claim gets graded based on how the added players' dynasty values have changed since the pickup date. The formula compares the players' current value against their value at the time of the transaction.
The grade scale:
- Jackpot: 3,000+ value gained. A franchise-altering pickup.
- Great Add: 1,000 to 3,000. A significant roster upgrade.
- Good Add: 300 to 1,000. Solid positive value.
- Even: Within 300 in either direction. A wash.
- Miss: 300 to 1,000 lost. The player didn't pan out.
- Bust: 1,000+ lost. A claim that actively hurt the roster in hindsight.
The grade also accounts for players you dropped in the same transaction. If you cut a player who later appreciated in value, that missed upside counts against the claim. Dropping someone who continued to decline is neutral; you don't get penalized for a smart cut.
One deliberate cap: a claim with no drops can never grade as a Bust. If you picked up a free agent without releasing anyone, the worst grade you can receive is Miss. Bust is reserved for claims where you dropped a player who outperformed your pickup.
Activity Feed
The default view shows a chronological feed of every claim across the selected seasons. Each card shows the owner, claim date, FAAB spent, transaction type (waiver vs. free agent), the acquisition grade, and the players added and dropped.
Filters let you narrow by team, season, transaction type, and grade. There's also a "My Claims" toggle if you want to see your own history without scrolling past the whole league.
By Team Summaries
The By Team view aggregates each manager's full waiver history into a single row. Sortable columns:
- Claims: total number of transactions
- FAAB Spent: cumulative budget used on waivers
- Players Added / Dropped: raw volume
- Total Value Gained: net acquisition value across all claims
- Best Pickup: the single highest-value claim in their history
This makes it easy to spot the manager who barely uses the wire versus the one making 40 moves a season, and whether that activity is actually producing value.
Most Transacted Players
The third view ranks players by how many times they've been added and dropped across the league. High churn players tell a clear story: either everyone is streaming them for bye-week coverage, or the league keeps picking them up optimistically and cutting them when they disappoint.
Each player row includes a visual ownership timeline showing exactly when they were added and dropped, color-coded by team. You can see at a glance whether one manager held a player for two full seasons or whether six different teams each gave up on them within a month.
The timeline works the same way as the ownership history in our trade analytics: proportional blocks spanning the actual time period, with team colors and tooltips showing the exact dates.
Multi-Season Support
Like every other tab, the waivers section spans your full league history. Use the season selector in the activity feed to isolate a specific year, or leave it set to all seasons to see the complete picture.
The "By Team" summaries and "Most Transacted" views aggregate across all selected seasons. A player who has been cycled through your league five times over three years shows all of that history in one timeline.
