Optional Accounts, Cross-Device Sync, and Beta Access for Supporters

From day one, My Fantasy Analyzer has worked without any login. Enter a Sleeper username, pick your leagues, and you're analyzing. That isn't changing. Every feature that works today will continue to work without an account, forever.

But we've heard from users who want their settings to follow them across devices, and from early supporters who want to help shape what we build next. So we're introducing optional accounts.

How It Works

Click the user icon in the top-right corner of any page. Enter your email, and we'll send you a one-time verification code. Type it in, and you're signed in. No password to create, remember, or reset. No OAuth popup redirecting you through Google or Facebook.

We chose passwordless email codes for a few reasons:

  • Nothing to steal. There's no password stored anywhere. Each code expires after one hour and works exactly once.
  • Nothing to forget. Your email is your identity. No "forgot password" flows, no security questions.
  • No third-party access. We don't connect to your Google, Apple, or social accounts. Your email address is the only thing we store.

What Signing In Gets You

Cross-Device Sync

When you're signed in, your Sleeper username, selected leagues, and player value preference (KTC or DynastyProcess) are saved to your account. Switch from your laptop to your phone and your session is already there. No need to re-enter your username or re-select leagues.

Settings Panel

The account panel gives signed-in users a central place to manage preferences. Toggle between Keep Trade Cut and DynastyProcess dynasty values, and the choice persists across devices.

Beta Access for Supporters

If you've supported My Fantasy Analyzer through Buy Me a Coffee, we're offering you beta access. Sign in with the email you used to donate, and we'll flag your account for early access to features before they go live for everyone.

Beta users can toggle early-access features on and off from the settings panel. If a beta feature isn't ready for primetime or you just prefer the stable experience, flip the switch.

Our Privacy Commitment

We've been deliberate about what we store and what we don't:

  • We store: your email address, your Sleeper username, your selected league IDs, your player value preference (KTC or DP), and your account role (free or beta). That's it.
  • We don't store: league data, player data, trade history, roster information, or any analytics results. All of that is fetched live from the Sleeper API and computed in your browser, exactly as before.
  • We don't track signed-in users differently from anonymous users. Our analytics are the same aggregate page-view metrics we've always used.
  • We don't sell, share, or monetize your data. Your email exists for authentication and nothing else. No marketing emails, no newsletters unless you ask for them, no third-party data sharing.

Authentication is powered by Supabase, an open-source backend platform. Your data is stored in a dedicated Postgres database with row-level security, meaning each user can only access their own profile. Emails are sent from noreply@myfantasyanalyzer.com through our own verified domain.

What We're Not Doing

We want to be clear about what this isn't:

  • No features are moving behind a login wall. Everything that works anonymously today will continue to work anonymously.
  • No freemium bait-and-switch. We're not building free features to gate them later. If we add premium features in the future, they'll be genuinely new capabilities, not things we took away.
  • No mandatory accounts, ever. If you never sign in, your experience doesn't degrade. The sign-in icon is there if you want it and invisible if you don't.
