Improved Pick Values: Now Reflecting the Crowdsourced Dynasty Market

Draft picks are one of the most traded assets in dynasty, but valuing them accurately has always been tricky. Until now, My Fantasy Analyzer used estimated pick values based on historical ranges. Those estimates were reasonable, but they didn't reflect how the market actually moves week to week.
We've updated our pick values to align with the broader dynasty community's current consensus — the same kind of crowdsourced market data dynasty managers already reference when making trades.
What Changed
Previously, a "2026 1st Round Pick" had a fixed estimated value that didn't shift based on how managers felt about an upcoming class or current market conditions. Now pick values move with the market, priced on a consistent scale with player values.
We track three tiers per round per season:
- Early (top third of picks)
- Mid (middle third)
- Late (bottom third)
This covers picks from the 2026 through 2028 seasons across all four rounds. Both 1QB and Superflex values are included, so the tool automatically uses the right number for your league format.
Why Market-Aligned Values?
Dynasty pick values aren't set by a formula — they're set by the collective opinion of thousands of managers trading based on draft class hype, positional scarcity, and current roster needs. When the 2027 class starts looking elite, early 2027 firsts should command a meaningful premium over late ones. When a class disappoints, the gap narrows. Static estimates miss all of that. Market-aligned values reflect it.
Where This Appears
Updated pick values flow through everywhere picks are valued in the app:
- Trade Calculator: pick values on both sides of any proposed trade now reflect current market pricing
- Roster Valuations: teams holding multiple future firsts will show accurate pick value, not generic estimates
- Trade Grading: historical trades involving picks will use the market value from that date as our pick history grows
How It Stays Current
Values update automatically every week, keeping picks in sync with how the dynasty community is actually pricing them. Over time this builds a record of how pick markets have moved — useful context when evaluating whether a pick is near a historical high or low relative to players.
